Scott Savitsky is a Cybersecurity Engineer with General Dynamics Land Systems who specializes in Cybersecurity and System Protection across multiple platforms. Scott has been a tactical communications and information technology professional for over 25 years. Prior to General Dynamics Land Systems, Scott served as a Security Control Assessor at the Air Force Space Command where he had the responsibility of assessing and approving multiple Assessment and Authorization Packages, System Security Plans and System Categorizations at the Top Secret level. Prior to the Air Force Space Command Scott had the role as an Information Systems Security Officer at the Air Force Material Command Wright-Patterson Air Force base. He completed a full Assessment and Authorization Package with all supporting artifacts for an approved two year Authority to Operate.

Scott served in the United States Army for 26 years with over 20 years in the Special Operations Community deploying on several overseas contingencies during that time. He served as a Joint Task Force J6 in the combat environments of Afghanistan, Iraq and several other Middle Eastern countries.

While at GDLS, Scott has quickly established himself as a leader within the cybersecurity organization and has helped to shape GDLS Risk Management Framework (RMF) policy. Scott is responsible for establishing a RMF Program that will have direct tie in to the ARCYBER and DoD established policies on RMF. Scott uses guidance from NIST 800-53r4, 800-160, 800-171 to ensure that all aspects of the RMF program are fully supported and provides training on the standards when required.

Scott has supported the Vigilant Torch Foundation in several fundraising events helping support Special Operations Families with College Scholarships when their family members are lost on the battle field. Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Security from American Public University and is an active member of ISACA, SANS and Comptia.
