MI Freedom Center

The NDIA Michigan Chapter, with support from Women in Defense Michigan, AUSA Arsenal of Democracy, and the Macomb Regional PTAC, is organizing a Match Campaign to help the Michigan Freedom Center, whose mission is to Serve Those who Serve Us. As a result of COVID-19 and its impact on travel, the Freedom Center’s operating budget has been devastated, having lost almost 50% of its annual donations, which primarily come from the airlines, airport vendors and passengers. So donate to our Freedom Center Match Campaign!

Since the grand opening on November 11, 2011, the Michigan Armed Forces Hospitality Center – known also as the Freedom Center – has served more than 800,000 Military and Veteran guests in its four locations across Michigan. The most prominent are the two at Detroit Metro Airport, plus one at the Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) in Lansing and Troy, where new active-duty military become sworn in before heading off to Boot Camp.

Serve those who Serve Us!

With funding support and the hundreds of volunteers, let’s

  • Lift the spirits of a young kid who is scared as they fly off to Boot Camp or their next military assignment
  • Express a genuine ‘Thanks for Your Service’ to a Veteran
  • Provide current Military and Veterans a place to rest between flights to grab a cup of coffee and a snack

The NDIA Michigan Chapter has contributed $5,000 to the Freedom Center but is committed to raising the bar through it’s Match Campaign. Help us bring awareness to the Freedom Center and make a donation through the link below. All contributors, big and small, will receive recognition on this website and in newsletters. The NDIA will match all donations up to an additional $5,000.

Donations won’t stop at $5000; the ticker will keep going.

We want to deliver a HUGE check to the Freedom Center.

Donations can be made by credit card or check

10TH Anniversary

During the 10th Anniversary Celebration, Macomb County’s Senator Mike McDonald will prepare a special State Senate Proclamation acknowledging the Freedom Center’s history, which will hang inside the McNamara location, and will include the names of donors of $10,000 or more to the “Back on Track Challenge” Campaign. Any donors providing $10,000 by or more by October 28, 2021 through the Match Campaign will also be recognized in the “Back on Track Challenge”.
