NDIA Michigan’s STEM Scholarships
2026 Scholarship Program Overview
The NDIA Michigan Chapter is dedicated to supporting the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians. As part of this commitment, we actively support formal STEM education and advocate for policies that help build a strong, future-ready defense workforce across Michigan.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, the Chapter will award competitive scholarships to high school seniors pursuing STEM-related certificates or degrees at Michigan-based colleges and universities. Awards include:
- $1,500 for students attending community colleges
- $3,000 for students attending universities
Multiple scholarships will be granted.
Submission Guidelines
- Completed scholarship application
- Most recent high school GPA transcript
- Three short essays related to your interest in STEM
- One personal reference and recommendation letter
Submission window: Spring 2026
Notification Process
The scholarship review includes three steps:
- Application Review – All submitted materials must be complete to advance.
- Interview Selection – The STEM Committee will review applications and invite selected candidates to a virtual interview. Families may join the meeting.
- Final Awards – Scholarship recipients will be selected in June 2026 and notified shortly afterward.
NDIA Michigan Chapter STEM Initiative
In support of national STEM workforce development, the NDIA Michigan Chapter is committed to encouraging and equipping young people to pursue meaningful careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Applications will be reviewed only if all required fields and materials are completed.
