Why can’t I register on the MDEX website?
Because MDEX 2026 is co-located with AUVSI XPONENTIAL, XPONENTIAL manages all registration, badges, and hotel blocks for both events. This provides a unified and secure credentialing process.
Do I need an AUVSI account?
Yes. If you do not already have one, simply select “I do not have an AUVSI Customer Account” to create an account in seconds.
What does the promo code do?
Entering the promo code gives you a complimentary XPO Hall pass plus 25% off Full Conference and VIP passes.
Why is the system showing a cost at checkout?
If you see any charges, it means optional items (classes, workshops, or training sessions) were selected. Uncheck those items and your Hall pass will return to free.
Can I book my hotel through the same system?
Yes. XPONENTIAL provides a full hotel reservation portal during registration.
REFUND POLICY
Booth cancellations must be submitted in writing, telephone requests will not be honored. Cancellations received before February 1st will receive a full refund minus the processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30. Cancellations received after February 1st through March 1st will receive a 50% refund minus the processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30. There will be NO REFUNDS after March 1st. Eligible refunds will be processed within 60 days of receipt of written notice of cancellation.
Sponsorship commitments are considered final and non-refundable. Upon execution, sponsorship funds are allocated toward event production, marketing, and contractual obligations necessary to deliver the Michigan Defense Expo. As a nonprofit educational organization, NDIA Michigan Chapter commits sponsorship revenue immediately to event execution and mission-focused programming. We appreciate sponsors’ understanding of this policy.

Why is the exhibitor cost higher this year?
Because MDEX 2026 is co-This year’s pricing reflects several required changes under our co-located partner agreement with XPONENTIAL. Costs include union labor requirements at Huntington Place, increased AV and venue services, and fees owed to XPONENTIAL for each booth space. Exhibitors gain a significantly larger audience—from 3,200 to an expected 11,000 attendees—providing triple the exposure and a far stronger return on investment.
Why is MDEX being held in Detroit this year?
XPONENTIAL selects a different host city each year. For 2026, they chose Detroit, Michigan, and invited MDEX to co-locate due to the region’s strength in advanced mobility, defense manufacturing, and autonomy. Detroit’s location also makes it easier for many Army, industry, and academic stakeholders to attend both events in a single venue.
Do I still get full MDEX access even though XPONENTIAL handles registration?
Yes. All MDEX exhibitors receive full access to MDEX spaces, programming, and networking while also gaining access to XPONENTIAL’s exhibit hall and cross-event traffic.
Why do I need an AUVSI account?
Because XPONENTIAL manages all badges, credentials, and hotel blocks, an AUVSI account is required to issue your badge and connect you to the correct registration category.
What if I accidentally choose the wrong pass type or a paid option?
If you select optional classes or training sessions, the system may show a fee. Simply uncheck any optional items and reapply the promo code —your XPO Hall pass should show as free.
Will MDEX still feel like MDEX if it’s co-located?
Yes. MDEX maintains its own identity, program content, and exhibit floor section within Huntington Place. Exhibitors will experience everything they know from MDEX plus the added benefit of thousands more attendees and expanded cross-domain opportunities.
Does co-locating change who attends MDEX?
It broadens your reach significantly. You’ll still meet Army, DoD, and Michigan defense leadership—now joined by senior autonomy, robotics, manufacturing, and federal tech buyers from XPONENTIAL’s national and international audience.
Will my badge work for both events?
Yes. Registration through XPONENTIAL ensures your badge provides seamless access across both show floors.
